about

IGLOOMAG.COM REVIEW:

"Silence is tucked away underneath a sheet of crumpled bass tones, minimalist sheets of reversed noise, wrinkled melodies and spacious collages of BOC’esque interludes. To disseminate such an album requires a quiet place or a long 3:00am drive. Like separating individual grainuals from a plume of ashes, STATION (aka Jed Becker, Twoism.org moderator and also operating under the Saturday Index moniker) has conceived forty-two minutes of simmering ambience. And it is with these mysterious strands of subtlety that allows each movement to slither its way into the subconscious. Without notice, time casually falls out of place, nostalgia flashes into mind and vanishes into thin air. Perhaps by design, it’s actually difficult not to invest each second into listening to the nuances spinning around on this release. A hypnotic symphony of sublime minimalism floats around an organic stream; and it is in this stream that the listener can begin to fully realize the path that these sounds etch. Definitively surreal and devoid of a conclusion, STATION is a bewildering collection of silky ambience transmitting a fluid kaleidoscope of colors and undulating waves upon the memory bank. Don’t let this one slip under the radar, instead, let it float into and out of your mind."

LISTENER REVIEWS:

"Marrying the deepest despair of desolation with a sanguine yearning for salvation, STATION doesn't make pretensions to its quality by means of eclecticism but rather defines a very limited set of musical axioms by which it proves its quality and musical correctness. The feelings it sets out to evoke in the listener are as seminal and abstract as those experienced when peering into the unfathomable celestial sky at night and realizing one's infinitesimal significance within the eternal realm of the universe. Like the artwork implies, STATION is like finding yourself on a raft at sea, with no plans and barely any memories, and musically recites ethereal yet dark reveries of detachment, though never losing consciousness nor failing to discern the faint flickering of a distant lighthouse, while the soothing waves of sound gently wash over the listener's soul."
